Over the next few days you will see some improvements for static resources served on our network. Static resources are items like images, videos, JavaScript, CSS, and any other file attachments. These changes do not yet apply to your actual dynamic community pages. We will follow up with more updates on improvements we are making there. Brotli Compression When your browser supports it, all static files will use Brotli compression. Brotli offers a higher compression which often results in faster page load times. WebP Images WebP is an image compression format that offers higher compression for images which also results in faster load times…

I installed Server 2008 on a 10gig disk, which was an error. My disk is now full, and I was wondering if I could somehow migrate my install to a new disk, or make the install drive part of a JBOD. I've tried using Computer manager but all the RAIDing options are greyed out. I have a 30gig disc installed and working in the machine. Anyhelp is gladly appreciated.

First off hello everyone this is my first post and I am glad to see such a nice community. I am a computer science major and have acquired a free version of windows server 2008 from my university. I am trying to setup a home network at my house and I am having some problems. Each computer in my house is setup with a static IP and DNS from OpenDNS | Providing A Safer And Faster Internet. I want to be able to login to my server through a domain controller and assign group policies ect. I ran through the dcpromo installation but I am unable to join the domain. Do I need to own the domain even if I am only using it through LAN? Also, would it be wise to set up DHCP role and r…

Although installing roles (e.g. IIS) for the first time is pretty straightforward, I could not find an option to: - uninstall roles (e.g. uninstall IIS) - install additional components within roles (e.g. components within IIS that were not selected when initially installing IIS). Windows Server 2008 Standard Can this be done from the UI? If not cmd line would be appreciated as well...

It's noted that when calling UNC paths on a machine running Windows Server 2008 the view does not seem to refresh automatically, although it used to up to a while ago (yesterday). Environment machine with Windows XP (32 bit) > calls \\computername\share on > machine with Windows Server 2008 64 bit On machine with Windows Server 2008 resources are quite idle (CPU Usage at 1%; Memory used ~900Mb/4Gb LAN: 100Mbps that runs through a personal router I'm not sure what is causing this lag, any ideas?

Every now and then I'm getting prompted that there are compatibility issues for Visual Studio 2008 SP1. What issues? Also, I have had a hard time finding Installer 4.5 for Windows Server 2008, which seems to be a pre-req for SQL Server 2008, any ideas?

Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum and new to Windows Server 2008 as well. A friend of mine called me to help him with a new workstation for his office. I've built it and hooked it up to his workgroup network. He has 6 more workstations running Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 Pro. One Server 2008 with one role installed: File Services. Upon connecting his new workstation I've tried connecting to the shares on the server but got the "\\SERVER is not available. You do not have permission...." message. The new workstation can connect to all other workstations and read/write to their shares. Had my laptop with me so I joined the workgroup and tried connecting to the server's…

Hey, I'm rather new to the whole server - experience and I'm searching for some things... I would like that the My Documents - files are synchronized when the user log on/off. I suspect that could be done with GPO's? Do I have to manually create a folder in the shared folder on my server each time I create a new user. And do I have to set permissions for that user each time? I can't figure this whole thing out! Somebody can help me? Thanks!

We are using the Windows Server 2008 in our office. We have 13 computers networked together but only 10 can connect to the server? We are just using the computer it as a file server. What am I doing wrong? What do I have to do to have more than just the 10 people connected to it? Thanks for any help!

When 1.6.4 was announced almost 3 months ago it was one of the biggest updates MyBB has ever released. It fixed over 100 issues and brought performance improvements for MyBB forums – large or small – across the world. It was also popular for people who were new to MyBB – starting their project for the first time. Unfortunately, the 1.6.4 release files were contaminated by code that was not meant to be there and could open a security vulnerability on your forum. It only affects those that are running 1.6.4. We advise that you fix the problem as soon as you can. You can do so by following these instructions: Download the http://www.mybb.com/download/latest" target="_bl…

by Guest MyBB Team- 0 replies

As we stabilize the 1.8 branch for future support with development eventually switching focus to 1.9, we’d like to draw your attention to the following advisories. CAPTCHA Bug Version 1.8.27 has introduced a bug affecting two of MyBB’s supported CAPTCHA mechanisms: reCAPTCHA v3 and hCaptcha invisible. For those, the CAPTCHA may appear broken, and the verification can reject or accept attempts incorrectly. If your forum uses those systems, we advise to either: temporarily switch to another mechanism using the CAPTCHA Images for Registration & Posting setting (ACP: Configuration → Settings → General Configuration), or applying the upcoming changes to sou…

The goal of every client here in the Invision peer community, myself included, is to launch and run successful communities. Whether I’m going to be able to achieve that success in the new year depends entirely on trying these 10 steps. I know if that if I stick to these steps, then my community will grow – and I know if you follow along, your community will too. 10. Ignore Google Google makes me laugh; Google makes me cry; Google makes me want to pitch myself into the freezing icy waters of the San Francisco bay.
