Anyone know how to block/prevent IP spoofing in windows 2008 servers using windows firewall/IPSec? I am using Windows dedicated server and my server not in hardware firewall, my server getting IP spoof attack regularly so network is getting really slow. I want to prevent/stop such attack on my server to get stable. I know there is easy option in linux (add an entry in sysctl.conf and /etc/host.conf) but I don't know in windows. Awaiting for your reply Guys!

I can rdp from client to svr, I can see the svr within network on client though cannot connect, I can ping svr by name and IP, I can see both machines with net view command, client is auto dhcp and has server IP as DNS, i have tried stati…

Hi all, I have done some research investigation without results. There's an special attack to some of our servers. With linux we simply block certain UDP packets by length ( As an example, all UDP packets coming from XX port and with XXXX packet lenght ) would be blocket. But I can't figure out how to do that with windows. We are using windows 2008 server R2 ( std edition ). Windows advanced firewall seems to have some options, but not as detailed as i wanted, and it seems that there aren't so much windows server firewalls ( I see comodo ). Is there any way or policy to allow me to achieve that ? Thanks,

I need help, I am fairly new to server 2008. I set up some policies to affect a certain user and everything was going well. Once I came back and try a policy that would restrict users from using programs except the once I allowed, some how the policy affected all the accounts even the admin account. I allowed it to use only 2 programs which are IE and some banking program but now i can not make any changes even with the admin account i can't access anything. Is there any way i can turn of policies without the admin account?

Hello, we have company dns servers (BIND 9) on linux. I created new dns zone and permitted to update it from windows server IP address. During active directory installation I selected to use already configured dns server. Everything works fine. But this official solution is very insecure (access based on IP address). Is there any way to force windows to use some HMAC key for zone updates?
