What is a link farm? And how can they harm your site in SEO? I always heard I should stay away from them.

Hey all. I have a problem which I been working on for over 4 days in which I have had no luck in getting it work. Setup Cisco RV016 Small Business Router with DHCP Relay turned on pointing to the server static IP of 10.7.14.198/28. (One of three NICs, but only 198 is binded to DHCP Server). The gateway/router itself sits at IP 10.7.14.193/28 as well. The 4 DHCP Scopes are: 10.7.14.0/25 - User ClassID "Members" 10.7.14.128/ - No ClassID/VenderID 10.7.14.160/ - Mixed VenderClassID and User ClassID 10.7.14.216/28 - User ClassID "HQ" DHCP is bound to only IPv4 10.7.14.198. Also as far as I can tell, DHCP in/out is open on Windows Firewall. I have even tried…

Hi, I have around 70 printers installed on my 2008 print server. End users generally add what printers they want installed (windows 7), and we have third party software to monitor jobs, etc While some people find it easy to locate and install printers, others find it difficult. I have installed Internet Printing service hoping the end user could find their printer on the web page and then install it. By navigating to http://printsrv/printers/ all printers are easily available but I dont see an install option. Is this possible? Am I missing something? This used to be a cool feature in Novell's iPrint, and I'm hoping MS has something similar. Please advise TIA

I'm still waiting for somebody who can explain me the advantages from a core installation. I just saw you can't manage everything (for example IIS), you have to use another server to open snap-in and log on remotely... THE HELL!!! What's the point? Really, I use Windows and I like it, but WHY develop a core install if you can't actually manage your server?!?!?! I'm really disappointed!

We are pleased to announce that MyBB has decided to develop an official mascot which will be used for a variety of purposes including promoting MyBB and on possible official MyBB merchandise. As a result, the MyBB Group is in search for a great creative artist “doodler” who can help sketch and design the MyBB Mascot. The artist must have the creative ability to not only sketch the mascot, but be able to make a high resolution digital copy of the sketch(s). The artist must have the ability to work with a team and have the time to bring the MyBB Mascot to life. In addition, the artist must be willing to assign all copyright for their work to the MyBB Group. Although this …

Hey Guys, I'm a sysadmin currently using default GPOs on the root domain, I created a GPO specifically for password complexity and such then applied it to a new OU I made, dumped the user/computer in there and sure enough its applied via gpresult and rsop.msc.. I see it in secpol.msc So why can I change my password to 1234?? lol. Minimum is 8 characters and complex What would cause this? I just noticed my XP machine shows it's applied (although not working as mentioned) but my win7 machine filters it out.. I have no WMI filter on it Thanks

Hello, I have a problem with Windows Server 2008 on the authorization application access to files on the hard disk. Indeed, I have applications that work perfectly in Windows 7 but not on Windows 2008 R2. This is mainly due to access files on disk. I wonder if there is not a parameter, a configuration change to give access to the disk drive applications. For example, it is not possible to use the "Browse" and pick a file for send it to a website with Internet Explorer. I've already try to add the autorisation for the DEP data... but seems to be another thing... Thank you for your help.

My Windows 2008 R2 wont take any updates. Even installing Service Pack 1 installing service pack 1, get stuck at configuring service pack 15%. I looked over the logs, even installed the "System Update Readiness Tool" and no go. I looked over the logs and looks like it keeps on waiting for "poqexec.exe to complete". Tried SFC /scannow and didnt find any errors. Next tried in place upgrade and still no go with any updates.

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I certainly appreciate that it exists and any help I recieve from any of you. We have recently (last 4 months ) upgraded to server 2008. This upgrade has been plagued with several problems that I will not get into right now. Our most current issue is with our Lacie-5big network drive. As of two weeks ago we are having intermittant access errors when using it. This drive has worked for the past year without issue and so this recent development is a problem for us. Lacie support does not provide support for server installation (thanks!). The error we get is that the IP address is already in use. We have noticed that the drive…

Hi, This may be an easy one but I'm having trouble setting this up and can't find a suitable guide in the the net. I have a Windows 2003 server as Domain Controller. Inside I have a TerminalServers group and members are a window2003 terminal server and a new windows2008 terminal server. I need a policy that grants my remote desktop users to install software/applications on windows2008 server, but they should not be able to Shutdown or Reboot the server. I tried going to local policy-> user rights on win2008 but can't seem to find such procedure to achieve this. Of course, another group exists, domain administrators which must retain full rights on the server. In su…
