Hi I'm quite new to this area so thanks for your support. I know I can have multiple websites with different domains hosting in the same server. (which I have working) My situation is a little different now. Not sure if this is possible. My friend created a hyper-v for me pointing to a public IP I loaded Xampp and began to host web sites. httpd.config Listen [::]:80 ServerName localhost:80 DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs" 10.0.2.220 (This server is up and working) I have now created a Centos5 ISPconfig server on the same hyper-v with a different private ip to host Centos5 python/django/pinax web sites. ISPconfig:8080 httpd.config Listen 80 UseC…

is it possible to have a trust between these two domains? domain 1: server01.domain.com domain 2: server01.domain.nl Both the name of the servers are server01. The only difference is the last part domain.com vs domain.nl Is a trust possible or isn't it possible because of the same server01 server name With kind regards, Maurice Lucas

I have been running a Server 2008 domain name server for a while now with no problems at my house in a virtual environment in VMware. It is my only server which serves as my DC, AD, and DNS server. It has been great until recently. I am starting to have a DNS problem now. It's not getting outside to the internet, instead it is local only and says there may be a problem with my DNS configuration, which has never been changed. I have my preferred DNS server set as loopback 127.0.0.1 (since it is DNS). I'm not sure what is happening here. Does anyone have anything I should check or re-configure? DNS service is running. Thanks for any help.

Hi all! I've just put Windows Server 2008 onto our home server, after using Windows Server 2003. Is there anyway to make a Scheduled Task interact with the desktop? At the moment I have a .bat file being run as the task then that .bat file is running the program, it's all running fine and doing it's job, I just want to be able to see the program itself - is there anyway to make the task interact with the desktop, so in effect showing the .bat window and the program it's starting? Or even somehow adding a line in the .bat file to tell it to "show" the program? Many thanks! Jump1e (Dan)

Hello I am a student studying for my 70-640 exam. These forums look very nice. On my Host PC, I have Oracle Virtual Box running two virtual 2008 servers and 1 virtual XP client, with another real XP client laptop. Instead of changing my default domain policy, I would like to back it up into a starter GPO from which I can build a new GPO based on my default domain policy. I am not exactly sure how to go about doing this and would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

Currently have a server running 2003 standard with AD. 20 clients. Unboxed a new server today and it has 2008r2 enterprise on it. Question is should I just setup a new domain on the 08 server or go thru the steps of adprep on the 03 server? Then add the 08 server into the forest as a DC? Then later promote it to root DC when we are ready to shutdown the old 03 server? Will all this keep me from going from desktop to desktop and fishing out the client files they keep locally?

Hi, Windows Server 2008 noob. I have a basically stock Windows Server 2008 Standard standalone installation (with no domain controller), then added TFS 2010. Now, I'm running the TFS Build Service for continuous integration, which requires builds to use a UNC path-based drop folder, not a drive-letter-plus-folder path. I created a folder C:\Builds and then shared it as Builds, granting "Full Control" permissions to the account the build service runs as at both the share & NTFS permission levels. When logged in to that machine as the build server account (or any other administrator account, for that matter), start Windows Explorer and try to navigate to \\myserve…
