Hy there, I am very new to windows 2008 server and my boss ask me to install it and to configure a web and a mail server on it. I did it at first (it took me a while) then after a power failure the server had to be reinstalled. I had a backup on the second partition but i couldn't restore the partition table and had to take from scratch again. I have a kerio mail server which is configured on 8080 port as the web server uses 80 port so for that matter all is good. The problem is I can send emails anywhere but i cannot receive from exterior. I mean from within the domain i can send and receive but with exterior i can only send. So my question is WHAT AM I D…

Hello everyone, I have some specific folders on a 2008 SP2 server in which I am trying to set permissions. Basically I have added a domain group to the local administrators group on the server. So, anyone who is a member of the domain group should be able to log into the server as an administrator. However, on some folders on this server I set the permissions so that ONLY the local Administrator group has any access rights. I have removed the local user group from the permissions. After removing the local User group from this folder I keep getting a message that I do not have permission to access this folder even though my user account is a member of the local admin…

I've just installed Windows Server 2008 as my workstation. I installed the latest stable uTorrent. When I went to download a torrent I get this message Attached file: Untitled1242162087.jpg (14 KB) I have tried googling a solution but no one offers a solution I can understand. I didn't come across anything that says it utorrent can't be used on Server 2008. I think it might have something to do with permissions.

Hi everybody, I'm a new user and I am not that good at Server OS. I am useing Windows Home Server Vail . As far as I got to know it is the same kernel as Windows Server 2008 R2. A few months ago I installed the WHS system and everything was all right. Besides to the folders existing ones on the system, I added (created) a few additional disk folders. The Server consists of 8 disks of 1,5 TB and an additional disk for draft. Recently the computer started showing blue screens. As a result of this a few of the disks became unaccessible. I can see them in My Computer, but I can't select them (clisking on them I can't access them: see attached picture). I t…

Hello, I will have to implement NOT typical three-tier CA Hierarchy. What I mean is shown in the picture below: I have standalone root CA in 'Centrala'. OK, but then there is a Policy CA (Intermediatory Certification Server for CA III which are in 'Oddzia?y') which is on-line beacuse it has also a role of Issuing CA for one departament - 'Centrala'. In the other words I have one server with two different roles - CAII and CAIII. And I have no idea how to configure server beetwen Root CA and CAIIIs. Is it possible at all? If yes... how? Please help, unfortunately I am completely beginner in the 'PKI world'
