Heyho, Today I installed Exchange Server 2007 SP1 for the first time on my Windows Server 2008 R2. The installation went fine (with Vista SP2 compatibility mode), but suddenly my coworkers complained that my website was unreachable. What a mess. Suddenly I got a nasty http:500 error that some plugin for my OWA service was unable to load instead of my homepage. I was pretty much angry, because Exchange installed all those webservice without asking me in critical regions. I deinstalled my exchange server and had to make a new IIS entry for my website on my server, because I was not able to rescue my old set up (which was build on the default IIS entry). Okay some d…

we have just moved our phyical server to a VPS with FastHosts! All works perfectly until Windows Server 2008R2 decides to automatically update itself periodically and I cannot for the life of me work out how to change the settings manually - they are all greyed out and unavailable even though I am logged in as as adminsitrator. BEER TOKENS available to anyone who can either set up our machine the way I want it or who can explain to me how to successfully get into the auto-updates settings so that I can set them to manual please?!?!? I have a 2008 SRV company, I have a wireless card ip: 192.168.0.10, the gateway + dns + server address DHCP identical Mask: 255-255-255-.0 I activated my ethernet card connected to a hub + RJ on a client connected so that I'll be a test for my WDS deployments. I would like to know the best config for my ethernet card when my client that will run in (PXE) has a DHCP server's IP emitted. My Ethernet card is not configured, I do not know what to do for the link to my DHCP server Should I add a static IP on my DHCP server it says it is the ethernet network card? Thank y…

Hi, I have a Win 2008 R2 server that connects to two different subnets. It should serve as DHCP server for both subnets, e.g. first 192.168.1.1..126 second 192.168.1.128..254 Both network interfaces of the server are bound to the DHCP server, and I've created two scopes for the subnets. How could I solve to give IP addresses from the first pool (scope) for the first subnet and addresses from the second pool (scope) for the second subnet? At this time client from both subnets receive TCP/IP config but the IP addresses do not conform the above mentioned requirement.

I have the following problem: I have email1, email2, email3 on domain A and email1 on domain B. On the server I have a virtual domain A. If I sent an mail intern from email1 to email3 in domaina.nl it is switched intern. But if I send a mail to email2@domaina.nl that isn't in the virtual domain, I get not able to deliver mail. How do I set the server to send it to outside if the recipient doesn't exist in local virtual domain?

Hello folks; I'm new to this forum. i have a question: i have a Windows server 2008 acting as our file server and we have home folders for all users which were moved recently from Windows server 2003 to the new 2008 server. i did setup all users in AD to have their home folders drive set when they log in by adding the following to their properties in AD "\\server\share\%username%". My question is how can i setup the permission for the home folders to make sure no user can see other user's home directory contents? Thanks in advance

Ive got a small problem that I am hoping that there is someone out there who will be able to help me with. I am doing a course at the Open University that requires me to to run Windows Server 2008 on it. However when I try to do this I get the following message. "This computer does not have enough space for temporary files. Windows installation needs at least 455 megabytes (mb) of space on any partition for temporary files. To install Windows, free enough space and restart the installation" I would greatly appreciate any help that someone might be able to give.

So anyway, normally we use linux because of the fatal perpetual security hazards that Microsoft inflicts on the world. However enough people are totally oblivious to the hard realities, and uneducated enough to feel comfortable with Microsoft servers in their company. I am tasked with getting $M's version of a communication server going to provide an additional product offering. Install Attempt Anyhow, with the server 2008 trail disk from Microsoft, it simply wont detect the sata hard drives in a raid 1 configuration. Windows XP does, Linux does, How to force Windows 2008 to see the drives so that an install is possible ?

In Companyweb on Win SBS 2k8 you are able to sent a mail with the URL from a file. But this opens in the local mail application. Is it possible to sent through OWA? (Companyweb > Shared Documents > Options > Send to...)
