Hi guys, I have a funny problem here. After i have installed windows 2008 x64 R2 Enterprise, my network adapter don't seems to be able to identify itself. I have joined the server to my domain and i have disabled all firewall rules. Total i have 4 network adapters and only 1 is connected. However, if i made any changes to other unused network adapters, i.e to say i disable and enable any of the unused network adapters, the connected network adapters will be able to identify itself under my domain. If i do a restart of the server again, the connected network adapter will not be able to identify itself again. Not sure whether is it a hardware issue or O…

We purchased a dedicated windows server from GoDaddy about 3 weeks ago and we are having 1 mayor issue; For some reason, it will not allow us to have Outlook and the blackberry or iPhone on at the same time (emails). If we turn on the account on the iPhone, it will automatically start asking for the password in Outlook but even if you put the password it will still not work. Any suggestions? We are using MailEnable on the server and we even paid $745 to upgrade the MailEnable to the Enterprise edition because they told us that this would allow for multiple session, but it's still not working even after this upgrade to the enterprise version. Hope you have some ideas…

Server: Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Client: the server and a Vista computer. I setup an user account on the Windows server with a password. I added the user account to the Remote Desktop Users. I added it to TS Web Access Computers Properties. Remote Desktop icon shows in RemoteApp tab along with a Calc icon. Calculator loads fine after logging on. However, Remote Desktop does not. It gives an "Access Denied." error! However, Administrator account loads Remote Desktop perfectly. What is the problem and solution? Thanks, Ajay

Hi all, I'm new to these forums and to Server 2008 R2. Currently, I'm attempting to add a brand new 2008 R2 server to an existing 2003 domain as a domain controller. I've followed the steps to make this happen, and everything runs smoothly until I get to dcpromo. Here is what happens: I start dcpromo and am able to go through all the steps and click "Install". DNS installs fine. However, when I get to "Installing Group Policy Management Console", it not only hangs the installation indefinitely, but the system becomes either partly or completely frozen. I can't kill the process with Task Manager because TM will not load. No errors occur, and my only recourse is to ha…

Hi! I want to shrink one of my hard drive partitions, so that I can give the space to another partition. I have done the following: 1. Start -> Administrative Tools -> Server Manager (I right clicked and chose "Run as Administrator") 2. Storage -> Disk management 3. Right clicked the partition I want to shrink, chose "Shrink volume", specified the amount of space to shrink 4. Clicked "Shrink" The result: I get an error message saying "Access is denied". The pop-up window displaying the error message has the title "Logical disk manager". What should I do to get it to work?

I know this question must have been answered more then once but after researching for hours, I have yet to find an answer: We are considering setting up a Server with Server 2008 and we need to know the requirements for the workstations: Hardware shouldnt be an issue - the question is, what operating systems will work as a client/workstation on the network?

Long story short, I need some help building and promoting this community. Compensation will be in the form of free hosting for you (cPanel), or a split of any profits the site makes. The site really isn't earning much currently, we had one good day via Adsense and that's about it so far. Current staff hasn't been able to perform up to standards, they're posting poems and love story's in the blogs for petes sake, touching but not what I'm looking for. despite being given every opportunity and tool to do so, if you accept the position and require something just ask I'll do anything I can to accommodate my staff. Site: Admincommunity.com - Ready For Development Niche:…
