I run a forum using vb 3.8, well two forums. Would purchasing VBSEO be a good idea or would it just be a waste of money? Also, I read on the VBSEO site that by having their mod installed, you can gain more revenue and I wonder how?

Hi guys This is my first post and I was hoping someone would help me out. Im running SBS 2008 for my client, this is their mail server, they are in a domain environment. Their problem is when they backup. We are running backup executive 12.5 and their tape drive is a HP storageworks DAT 160, The backups work fine (they are set to run at night), but when they put the tape in the next morning it ejects once during the day at random times always, no matter what. Ive checked the eventvwr but nothing is coming up on that, any ideas on how to solve this, is there a setting somewhere? it ejects fine in the morning it just ejects once again during the day and m getting compla…

I am having an interesting issue on one of my client computers that started just recently. We are running windows server 2008 R2 for our file server, and windows XP Pro as the client OS. The file server has been setup and working flawlessly for just over a year, until recently. We have user folders setup in active directory that maps to the Z: drive. Sporadically throughout the week, and even during the day, one user will loose their Z: drive and get an error that says "Z: is not accessible. Access is denied" Now for the twist. I can go to Run and type \\ServerName\FolderPath on the users's computer, signed in as the user, and access the folder just fine. I can e…

I've repartitioned my C drive which is the home of SBS 2008. I should have done this at setup but forgot about it. Now I used to have C and D drive, after partitioning I have C,D,E and G (the former D). Now when I create a file on the C or G drive the folder gets (in the security tab) the following permissions: - Authenticated users - SYSTEM - Administrators - Users This seems to be the default and just fine. Now when I create a file on D or E (the partitions created using partitioning software) I get: - Everyone I guess something is not setup right after partitioning and the files for some reason don't get the default security settings. Is there a way to …

Goodmorning, In my company there is an infrestructure with vmware and virtual servers Win server 2008. There is a farm for remote applications, a print server, mail server, and of course 2 dns servers. Sometimes something strange happens. Clients cannot resolve server names, with command "ipconfig /registerdns" in almost all situations I can solve but this is a problem for me that I am the system administrator because this appens randomly. Clients lose the possibility to solve names while users work, so when they try to open a remote application an error sais that is impossible contact remote server. From client, the server is unreachable, with "registerdns" I solv…

I have following: SBS2008, updated to today. Can create "new folder". Then I go to the security tab to add a user with some extra permissions. When I click "check name" or "ok" it pops up a windows to ask me credentials (i am although logged on with administrator in the domain). After that it pops up a windows with the message the user or the password is not correct. But i am absolutely logged in with administrator, even more, with the domain administrator. Any idea how this can happen? A few weeks ago I could do this however. In my opinion nothing was change during these weeks. Thanks for your effort KurtST No answer needed. Problem solved. I have a win2008 r2 stand alone server, very basic file server, and for some reason all the file and folders permissions are messed up. I get Access Denied messages all the time and several programs can't get to their files any more. I know the problem is permission related but don't know the best way to restore them to a default state, if there is such a thing. Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this sort of problem? Is there some utility that can tell me what's what when it comes to such issues. Finally, I get these problems even for users that are Administrators. Any help is very welcomed. Freddy.
