Finally, one of the most requested features for clubs in Invision Community is coming with our March 2024 release: Pages databases in Clubs. ip.board Invision Community 5: Assign topics to moderators
by Guest IPS News- 0 replies

Forum moderation management used to be straightforward. It was commonplace to assign a moderator to a single forum. They would be responsible for enforcing the rules, removing spam and generally modelling the behaviour you wanted to see within your community. As community management has matured and moderators are tasked with roles based on knowledge, help and support, there is a need for more nuance in managing topics within your community. For example, you may have specialists or teams of specialists who help answer questions about development, sales, or support. Topics that require this help may be posted anywhere within your community. Indeed, this feature was…

ip.board Invision Community 5: The all-new editor
by Guest IPS News- 0 replies
Invision Community 5 has a brand new editing experience powered by a lightweight, fast React text editor built for mobile and modern browsers. The venerable CKEditor v4 at the core of our current editor is starting to show its age, so we wanted a clean slate with Invision Community v5 with an editor that was optimized for mobile use, easily extensible and had a feature set that would take us into the next era of Invision Community and beyond. The obvious choice was to consider the latest version of CKEditor, but it didn't fit our needs as it wasn't easily extensible, external plug-ins would no longer be possible, and its large footprint would affect page speed score…

Finally, the add-ons have some love ❤️ While there is the usual amount of bug fixes as we work hard to make XenForo 2.3 even more stable, this Beta in particular brings a number of new features to our official add-ons. This week (and a bit) we have been extremely busy working towards that enticing milestone of a stable release. There's still a little while to go with a healthy number of bugs, feedback and other bits in our backlog that we'd like to work through, but each release represents a significant amount of effort and progress towards the end goal. While we have mostly focused on bug fixes and other stability improvements, this has resulted in some notable changes which you should be aware of... Read more Continue reading...

Welcome to 2.3.0 Beta 7! Since our last release we have been mostly focusing again on bug fixes and stability, though we do have an interesting change to note related to multibyte strings, specifically URL romanization. If available, we now use the [iCODE]intl[/iCODE] extension and perform a multi-layered process for normalizing and transliterating strings. This is now much more intelligent as it handles some special cases for certain locales (based on the default language of the forum). We also... Read more Continue reading...

Unfortunately it has recently come to our attention that the CAPTCHA previously provided by Solve Media is no longer functional. Initially it seemed like it was just their verification endpoint that was no longer functional, but it now transpires that their CAPTCHA challenges are no longer displaying either. If your site is currently configured to use Solve Media, it is highly likely that new users are currently unable to register an account on your forum. Even if that aspect starts... If you are using a computer or mobile device using dark mode, and you have been living under a rock for the past several weeks, you might be rather surprised at the appearance of the XenForo Community Forums at this point. On the other hand, if you have been paying attention, you'll understand that we have now upgraded our own forums to XenForo 2.3, which means we are getting ever closer to a public release, while showing our usual confidence in the stability of our products by 'eating our... As we find ourselves with our toes over the precipice of June; signalling the half way point of the year, I thought it's a good time for an update. Apologies southern hemisphere. Invision Community 5 has been in alpha testing for a while, and a small group have found a good number of bugs, and offered their thoughts and suggestions, some of which we've implemented. During this time we've wrapped up the new editor, a boat load of UI improvements and more. We are now ready for the next stage, which is to give our alpha testers their own Cloud v5 to test with. This opens up testing for the Admin CP, and all areas without using developer mode. v5 has a lo…
