Hi all, I have a Windows 2008 SBS Standard Server which is my AD Server. I have setup VPN which allows users to connect but they are unable to access any network resources. I found out the reason is because the IP range given to VPN users is 192.168.1.x. How do i change the ip range given to VPN users so that its something like 192.168.99.x, etc?? Many thanks vmessy

Another odd duck after my Server 2008 installation... Internet Explorer 8 (or any other version of IE) cannot access local sites (e.g. on my Intranet). Example: My hardware router/firewall is set up at IP address 192.168.1.2 - one accesses/controls it via IE (it has a builtin web-server). When I try to access http://192.168.1.2 - IE8 punts me through the router itself on to the Internet (no longer on my LAN/Intranet) and I get a "192.168.1.2 not found" from bing. Yes, I've added 192.168.1.2 to my security -> intranet -> add setting for IE8. I can ping it just fine (it is working as I'm getting routed/forwarded out to the Internet) - it is just that I cannot speci…

I have to admit to having some favorite skin/theme designers. It seems as if they just have a good eye for what works. But I'm also going to admit that Olivier has moved up near the top of the pack. This Cielo skin is really sharp and it may be finding itself on one of my own forums. Good choice, Bob.

Have a single server running Windows Server 2008 Standard. Server has been running for approximately one year. Passwords for users on the network (running Windows XP) are not expiring per the group policy settings. Right now the settings are set to change the password every 2 days with no progress. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Hi, I am a little new to the Windows environment and have been researching around this topic but I did not find any useful docs that would describe if I can replicate schema from an Active Directory into an AD LDS (formerly known ADAM) instance ? I would need only some attribute to replicate ie. username, password, phone, email address etc. Is it possible to replicate these informations from AD into a LDS ? I have found informations that describe I can replicate schema and configuration from another LDs instance but not from an Active Directory structure. Please help me if you have any links docs about this topic. THanks !

A quick message to say hello and to congratulate Bob on this new forum. I see this as being a really great resource for all forum admins. I've been online for more years than I care to count but as a hint, my first online experience came via the use of a 300 baud modem. I set up my first forum on phpBB2, back in 2004. I moved to vBulletin in February 2005 and added three more forums over the years. In November of last year, I moved all four sites to Invision Power Board and have since added a fifth site. I am a former vBSEO user and have modified some files to try to optimize IPB. I'm looking forward to the changes we'll see in IPB 3.1.0, too! So I hope to bec…
