Hi, I have a small Lab environment to test TS Gateway as per our network environment. While testing I came across few question and I was wondering if someone can help me answer the same. 1. During setup of RAP, under Computer Group, when you select Create a new group, is there a way to edit group which you have already made. Cause if I have group for DB server and later on when we add a new server in our DB zone, it seems that we have to make a new computer group on the TS Gateway as I don’t see a option to edit a already made group and add one more server. If it’s possible then do let me know 2.Also for the New TS Gateway-Managed Computer Group under Netw…

I'm setting up a server for testing purposes. Even though its just for testing I do like to get best performance possible. I'm wondering about disk setup. I have four disk in two arrays. Atm one is configured as RAID 1 (640 GB) and the other is in RAID 0 (2 TB) Now I'm thinking of installing server 2008 on the 640 RAID 1 and use the 2 TB for media. If I want to test VM's I would install them on the RAID 1 and again use the 2 TB for storage. I could however disable the RAID 1 and use one of the disks for server 2008, the other for vm's and again the RAID 0 for storage. I'm kinda lost on what the best setup would be. I have to make a config with these disk and hav…

Hello, i have an HP Proliant DL380 G3 running server 2008. Now my question is, once every so long after the system has been running for atleast a week or so with no problems what so ever, it just freezes for no reason. the only way i know is because everything goes away and even when i go to the machine itself the screen is black and won't come on and if numberlock or whatever happens to be on you can't turn it off and i do notice the activity light on all six hard drives are on pretty solid. it seems light a hault to me except there is no blue screen error.

I just turned 71 years old and still have a lot to learn. I have 4 operating computers in the house, one with XP Pro, two with Vista and one with Windows 7 Pro. They are loaded with Microsoft Office 2003/2007 and OpenOffice.org. My goal is to learn enough about WHS to convert the XP unit (two 500 gig disks) into a server. I am semi-retired, doing a little consulting for the company from which I retired. Been in computers since Apple III, but I only learn enough to accomplish whatever I am working on. Maintain a few websites for friends and customers (Expression Web). Help administer a small size (2700 members) vBulletin forum. Also considering starting my own forum and ha…

Hi I have a pc with windows server 2008 (standard) installed. My broadband provider also provides me with a dedicated ip address. Can anyone help with how I configure the server to enable me to host a website using IIS7. I'll apologise in advance as I am very new to managing my own server but I have plenty of web development (vbscript, asp etc) experience.

I am trying to install Server 2008 R2 to try out. I have a Q9550 CPU with 4GB memory, A Gigabyte GA-EP45T mother board. It has two Segate 700GB drives set up as RAID0 array. It already has Vista Ultimate x64 installed on the first Primary partition and am trying to install the server onto the second primary partition. I did have it installed once but the file I was given had a key on it so I formated the partiton and downloaded a new file. Now the install either fails saying a file is corrupted or stops expanding the files. I even tried the original file I had again and same result. The weird part is that after I cancel the install and reboot while the BIOS is scanning f…

When I go under "Software licensing" -> resolve now or go online to get genuine windows I got this message: "This pre-release version of windows has expired, to keep using windows, backup your files, and then install any released edition of windows server 2008 R2 Datacente." I am 100% sure my software is genuine. I've done a bit of research on this error. I might have problems with my system time. However, my system time is also up to date. Can anyone help me with this? Cheers!
