Hello, I am new to WS2008 and I was wondering if anyone could help me with my issue. I have two NIC's installed in my pc. One NIC is connected to a DSL Modem, and the other one is connected to my LAN. The server currently is running a DNS Server and a DHCP Server. I don't want to use ICS, because it messes with my static ip that is set for my NIC. I also have tried the routing guide from windowsnetworking.com without any luck with that. Perhaps I did something, wrong. I don't know. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Thanks for all the support, King John.

I installed QuickBooks 2009 Pro on a remote Windows 2008 server. However, when I launched QuickBooks I got a dialog box that said the "Internet Security Levels are set too High." I phoned QuickBooks but they said they do not support QuickBooks Pro running on a Remote Desktop Connection. They said they did not know whether Pro or Premier would work on a terminal server or not. QuickBooks would not tell me whether their "Pro" version would work remotely or not. They say they have only had only tested their $3,000.00 "enterprise" version of on a remote connection. Perhaps you can help me solve my QuickBooks installation problem. The dialog box that said the "Int…

What is pausing a zone suppose to do? I would think that pausing the DNS zone for a website would cause the domain name not to resolve. Thanks

Currently on our server we have a mounted F: drive where all AD users can log onto there computer and they can all see and access this drive. I am trying to create another drive to mount and also have every user be able to see and use this drive. The new drive is going to be N: drive. I didn't work on the last drive and I am totally lost on how to do this. I am assuming that this deals with AD. I'm new to server 2008 and need some help. Thanks

I have a predefined GPO that we would like to push out to our Windows XP users. I don't know how to import it into the Group Policy Management in Windows 2008 so I can link it to different OU's. I have already put it in the %SystemRoot%\Security\Templates location but I don't see it when I open up the group policy Management. I am running Windows 2008 Datacenter as my domain controller. and Windows XP workstations. thanks.

I am having a weird issue with a shared Hyper-V Drive. I have partitioned a 600G Hyper-v partion. This partition is a raid 5 on a new HP DL380 G5. There is no OS or anything on this partition. It is just a data drive that everyone in the company uses. Since I have moved from a USB drive to the new partition I get a lot of access database lockups and at least once a day the drive will quit responding to everyone. If I restart the Hyper-V server it works fine for a while again then it starts acting up. Does anyone have any idea's what could be going on? I had less problems with a USB drive than I do with the server drive. I have tried everything I can think of and the probl…

Hyperterm is no longer included. So how do I set up a console session to configure my switch via a serial connection? I don't want to use tcp/ip as it is not yet set up properly, and there are extra steps involved for the procurve.

Hello all, I'm new to this forum, and found you guys while looking for some assistance. Over the 4th of July holiday weekend, I migrated our SBS 2003 server to SBS 2008 Standard. All-in-all it went quite smoothly. The email took a long time to copy (expected), as did the data using robocopy (didn't expect to run into so many access denied problems, but oh well), and everything is now up and running on the new box with one exception...SharePoint We use SharePoint quite a bit, but following the migration instructions, I am able to get the information and databases copied from the source (2003) server to the destination (2008) server and it works perfectly as http:/…

I'll start off with a quick explaination of what I'm trying to do. We have a Truesight server and I'm trying to backup the export data (through an HTTPS API). I am using a ported WGET application as well as a batch file that contains the command for wget with all the options needed in conjunction with Windows Task Scheduler. If I run the batch file manually, it completes the entire download which is about 52-57mb on average. For some reason when I have Windows task scheduler run, it only downloads 20-28mb of the file. Here is a copy of the command in the batch file. C:\Backup\wget --no-certificate -T 100 -O C:\Backup\getdata-%date%.zip "https://MACHINE.IP/getexp…

It's noted that when calling UNC paths on a machine running Windows Server 2008 the view does not seem to refresh automatically, although it used to up to a while ago (yesterday). Environment machine with Windows XP (32 bit) > calls \\computername\share on > machine with Windows Server 2008 64 bit On machine with Windows Server 2008 resources are quite idle (CPU Usage at 1%; Memory used ~900Mb/4Gb LAN: 100Mbps that runs through a personal router I'm not sure what is causing this lag, any ideas?
