I got a copy of Server 2008 from work for learning purposes since we will be running Server 2008 pretty soon. I attempted to install the 64 bit Enterprise edition on my desktop but receive an error when it tries to boot up. JGOGO.sys Error: 0x0000359 and it says that it can't load a critical system driver. Specs: Q6600 overclocked ATI Radeon 3850 2GB of DDR2 RAM ABIT IP-35 Pro mobo Seagate Barracuda .11 SATAII HDD 2x DVD Rom/Burner Drives Creative X-Fi sound card Any ideas? is it lack of a 64 bit driver for something that causes it to fail? or is it a bad ISO? I used vLite to change some stuff, and add all my drivers in their, may have done it wrong... …

This is very confusing to me...I would like to purchase Windows 2008 Standard edition to host websites off of but i'm not sure which to get? There are some you can get with multiple CAL's some with none... Which version is needed to have unlimited access for websites? Each website usually has it's own username and password for visitors to use within IIS. Any ideas which version is needed?

Hi, I was running an SBS2003 Setup, but then the Active Directory got Corrupted... and because over the last few months the company has been slowly migrating to vista and now all their computers bar 1 desktop and 1 server, it made sense to move over to server 2008 as it is supposed to work well with Vista. The problem I am having is that from the server I cannot remotely connect to 2 machines.. although the strange thing is they can connect to the server fine.. redirected roaming profiles work fine, its just connecting from the server to the machines. Thanks in advance

Hello: I just installed Windows Server 2008. I am having problems seeing the other computers on the network. I cannot enable the Network Discovery. I seem to have done everything, but every time I click to turn it on, it does not turn on. I think that there is some setting in the firewall that needs to be changed, I am not sure. Has anyone had this problem? Tony

Hi, I have setup a windows 2008 EBS server in a separate network. One of the nic cards on my Management server is connected to the public network. I am able to get the address from the public network and ping other machines in the public network with their respective IP addresses. But not able to connect to the machines through RDC. I even disabled the filewall on my local EBS Management server. I am not able to ping this EBS management server from other machines in the public network. It would be of great help if some one can help me out with this. Thanks in advance. ~Kris

This is a new server setup (factory loaded from Dell) with no existing domains. When running 'dcpromo' I receive the following error: 'The new domain cannot be created because the local Administrator account password does not meet requirements.' I have tried multiple passwords using 6 or more Upper case, Lower case, & Special characters. Any ideas? ..................................... The problem was resolved by re-installing the the OS and making sure that I used a strong Administrator password during the initial setup.

Hello, We have an NT4.0 domain and were going to migrate to 2003 AD and Exchange2003 mixed mode. Management would like to know what we need to do to upgrade to 2008 AD and Exchange2007. Concerns: We have a third of all computers still running Window9598 We have 3 Production applications that require share/NTFS permissions to access (the Apps only run on WindowsNT). Questions: 1) Can NT still exist in an 2008AD/2007Exchng infrastructure? 2) Can 2008 user accounts connect to WindowsNT server shares in this structure? 3) What alternatives could I use to allow connectivity from 2008AD to WindowsNT server shares?

I would love some help if anyone can. We have a 2003 sbs server r2 running ISA server 2004 sp3. It is set up ad our domain controller, dns, dhcp, wins, exchange, and IIS 6.0. I added a 2008 standard server as a backup domain controller using adprep as per Microsoft's instructions. Everything is working well except there seems to be a communication error between the new server and the old one and clients. It processes client info and all the usual domain stuff ok, but I am getting errors running remote desktop to the 2008 server that the user name or password is wrong. I am assuming that I have some kind of protocol issue. The main problem I am concerned about is t…
