20 Google Analytics Alternatives
by Guest Jess Joyce- 0 replies
The adage is that if you're not paying for the service, you are the product. Unfortunately, this rings especially true in the analytics world. The analytics space is changing, though, and there are many alternatives — both free and paid — that take into account privacy, cookie-less tracking, GDPR compliance, core web vitals, and more. The current leader in the analytics space is Universal Analytics (UA), which has been tracking web data since 2005. But Google is going to stop tracking any new data in UA as of July 1, 2023 (Happy Canada Day?). This is a move to get users to migrate to Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which is a whole new way of tracking and navigating. In a…

How to Use Estimated Brand Reach as a Meaningful Marketing Metric
by Guest Dominick Sorrentino- 0 replies
Estimated brand reach is the most important high-level metric that everyone seems to either interpret incorrectly, or ignore altogether. Why? Because it’s a tough nut to crack. By definition, brand reach is a headcount of unique “individuals” who encounter your brand, and you cannot de-anonymize all the people on every one of your web channels. Simply put, two “sessions” or “users” in your analytics could really be from one person, and there’s just no way you could know. Nevertheless, you can and most definitely should estimate your brand reach. And you should, and most definitely can, use that data in a meaningful way. For instance, it’s how we confirmed that…

On our cloud platform, we handle email for you. To ensure email deliverability we have to keep our "score" high which means we are very strict about managing email sending. Right now, our systems monitor when an email bounces or is reported as spam. For spam reports we immediately stop sending to that email to ensure a good sending score. For bounces, it depends on the type of bounce but they will eventually be blocked as well. This is great for sending scores but sometimes emails get blocked when they should not. People might accidentally click mark as spam. Their email provider might be having technical problems one day causing bounces that then get resolve. T…

Please, feel free to use it in your speaker decks, client pitches, articles, marketing materials, and any place else you would like to instantly convey the thriving spirit of economic localism which underpins the passion we have in common with our audiences and clients. Lessons Learned from SEO Tests that Didn't "Win" – Whiteboard Friday

We love to talk about winning SEO tests, like those wonderful instances where you run an A/B test and you see positive impact. In today’s episode, though, Will is going to discuss the losing tests: those with negative results — or no results — where you couldn't prove an impact. These test results are, in fact, where you can likely find the most valuable insights. Click on the whiteboard image above to open a high resolution version in a new tab! Alternative Search Engines: Why They Matter and How to Rank on Them
by Guest Louise Persson- 0 replies
12 billion, 3 billion, 1 billion. That’s the number of searches made in some of the top alternative search engines monthly. While Google still holds more than 80% of the market share, ignoring search engines such as Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo can make you lose out on relevant traffic. So don’t limit yourself to Google’s algorithm as you plan the next year’s SEO strategy. In order to grow in the digital economy, we have to diversify our efforts. What better way to do that than by making sure that you rank on all the top search engines relevant for your audience? Generally, there’s two reasons why your audience would choose an alternative search engine over Google…

ip.board Introducing GraphQL for Invision Community
by Guest IPS News- 0 replies
We are excited to announce that the Invision Community GraphQL API is now available. This blog takes you through what GraphQL is and what makes it better than existing APIs present in Invision Community. It does get a bit technical, but you don't need to be a developer to appreciate how GraphQL will make life easier for those that do develop. What is GraphQL? GraphQL describes itself as a query language for APIs that gives clients the power to ask for precisely what is needed and nothing more. GraphQL was created by Facebook in 2012 and is now an open-source project governed by the GraphQL Foundation, which operates independently of Facebook. What makes Gra…
