ip.board Solved Content Improvements
by Guest IPS News- 0 replies
For a long time, Invision Community has supported a Question and Answer mode within the Forums application which allows a reply to be flagged as the "best answer" to the question posed. With the release of 4.5, we also introduced a way to allow topics to be marked as "solved" which introduces similar functionality without transforming the look and feel or other behavior of the forum itself. Based on the popularity of this new addition in 4.5, we have made some further improvements to solved topics and answered questions in our next release. Notification to topic/question starter While notifications were available to the poster who answered a question or solved a …

When (and When Not) to Outsource Link Building
by Guest Alex-T- 0 replies
Posted by Alex-T Have you ever outsourced link building? How did you like the experience? To be honest, mine was terrible. Allow me to share my story. When I had a typical 9-to-5 job as a marketing director at SEMrush, we made a decision to get more links from the top resources in our segment. We ended up hiring an agency to help us build these links. The agency was charging us an outrageous $13K a month, but, unfortunately, the high price didn’t equal quality. They weren’t capable of writing anything meaningful, not to mention publishing their content on trustworthy industry blogs. What made things worse was the fact that I brought them on board. Needless to …

Local SEO for Nonprofit Organizations: 5 Tactics to Try Today
by Guest kellyjcoop- 0 replies
Posted by kellyjcoop Many marketing channels are interruptive by nature, meant to divert attention away from a task, be it reading and replying to emails, perusing articles online, browsing social feeds, listening to the radio, watching TV — the list goes on. SEO is one of the only marketing channels (the only?) that serves to first deliver something, instead of asking before delivering. At its core, SEO is used to deliver helpful content to people actively searching for it. And, it can (and should!) be used to reach target audiences at the local and national level. According to Google, searches for local places without the use of “near me” have grown 150% over the …

To that end, it's integral that we're aware of just how that data works. 6 Ways to Build Brand Authority With Content Marketing
by Guest amandamilligan- 0 replies
Posted by amandamilligan Becoming an authoritative brand is no easy feat, but the massive benefits are worth the effort. When you’ve built authority, potential customers and clients begin to count on you and trust you — and it’s hard to imagine that trust not leading to a sale (at some point). But how exactly can a brand begin to build, or build upon, their authority? Content is an excellent way, and in this article, I’ll go through my tips on how it can be done. 1. Answer your audience’s questions If you’re not doing this, there’s virtually no way you’ll become an authority. People grow to rely on brands when those brands provide the information they’re …

The New Best Practices for Native Advertising on Editorial Sites
by Guest MeganRoseM- 0 replies

Posted by MeganRoseM Digital advertising is different nowadays. How and when we interact with ads online drastically changed in March when COVID-19 ushered in a new era of rolling global lockdowns, not to mention lifestyle changes that none of us could predict. And for native advertising in particular, ad performance has always relied on the nature of consumer behavior on the sites where they appear. Because they fit the form and function of their sites, their best practices are directly dictated by how we interact with the organic content that surrounds them. On editorial sites (think news, niche blogs and online magazines), consumer behavior has shifted quit…

ip.board Anonymous Posting
by Guest IPS News- 0 replies

For a very long time Invision Community has allowed community owners to choose how open or private their communities should be. Communities could optionally allow guests to post without registering, they could allow the use of pseudonyms or they could require the use of real names. This covers a diverse range of communities but feedback from our clients made us realize that some use cases have not been accounted for. For some types of community, where discussion topics are particularly sensitive, community owners want to make sure that members register with their real details but are given the option to post anonymously where appropriate. For example, organisations …

How We Became Digital Marketers in Just One Summer

Posted by rootandbranch Editor’s note: This blog is from the perspective of five University of Pittsburgh students — Kirsten, Steve, Darcie, Erin, and Sara — who completed a class this summer called "Digital Marketing Search Fundamentals", taught by Zack Duncan of Root and Branch. Introduction Our digital marketing class this summer did not give us credits that count towards graduation (in fact, some of us graduated in Spring 2020), nor did it give us a grade. Instead, we learned about paid search and organic search along with some of the key concepts central to digital marketing. We also became certified in Google Ads Search along the way. We each had diff…

Behind the SEO: Launching Our New Guide — How to Rank

Posted by Cyrus-Shepard Seven years ago, we published a post on the Moz Blog titled "How to Rank: 25 Step Master SEO Blueprint." From an SEO perspective, the post did extremely well. Over time, the "How to Rank" post accumulated: 400k pageviews 200k organic visits 100s of linking root domains Despite its success, seven years is a long time in SEO. The chart below shows what often happens when you don't update your content. http://d2v4zi8pl64nxt.cloudfront.net/behind-new-guide-how-to-rank/5fa48eaa8901f2.06032128.png Predictably, both rankings and traffic declined significantly. Location Data + Reviews: The 1–2 Punch of Local SEO (Updated for 2020)

Posted by MiriamEllis http://d2v4zi8pl64nxt.cloudfront.net/local-seo-1-2-punch/5faafdc2124ed1.74844125.jpg Get found. Get chosen. It’s the local SEO two-step at the heart of every campaign. It’s the 1-2 punch combo that hinges on a balance of visible, accurate contact data, and a volunteer salesforce of consumer reviewers who are supporting your rise to local prominence. But here’s the thing: while managed location data and reviews may be of equal and complementary power, they shouldn’t require an equal share of your time. Automation of basic business data distribution is the key to freeing you up to focus on the elements of listings that require human inge…
