Been away from forums for while. I still visit certain forums from time to time. Haven't run one in a long time. I am thinking about starting one. I'm researching topics. I am a geek so anything tech would work. When I was involved in forums there were no reddit or facebook. To make a forum work in the day of reddit and facebook what does an admin need to do?

Makes sense. Might be a big hit for first timers.

Welcome. Coding is fun, but, you know that.

Watched this happen on TV. Scary to see probably worse to be in.

Do you have a demo online? Be good to see in action.

That's a good read. Niche forums will always be around. You can't use facebook for specific topics.

Hi cap! Good to meet you.

You should reach out to the users. Send an email announcing the site is open. Couldn't hurt.

I happened to be cleaning out old stuff in my bookmarks and clicked on a link to here. Surprise when it worked. Nice to see it back.

Moderators are the soul of any forum. Hard to find good ones. -
When I sold my forum vbulletin was still king. xenForo didn't exist. In fact IPB and vbulletin were it. Strange how things change. Correct if I'm wrong. Wasn't this forum on IB when it opened?

I was messing around learning HTML and one day I created a simple 3 page site. I then started to write up tutorials on what I learned and how I learned. I did the same thing when I was learning to code. People started to ask me questions in email. I decided to install phpBB so that the questions could be asked there. The forum became popular and as always happens someone came along and wanted to buy it. I sodl it and regret I did. Anyway how did you get started in the forum biz?

I'm a ex-forum owner. Used to own a popular webmaster forum. Sold it a few months ago. I am looking to get back in the scene. I hope to be of some help to the new people that join.
