  1. If the disk came with the server it is tied to that server. You could try to install it and then call Microsoft to activate it.
  2. I don't know what promotion you got it through. If it works for a year it should continue to work. What promotion did you get it through?
  3. How do you have them setup? Give a few more details it could be just a routing problem.

  13. If the client has the firewall enabled they can't be pinged and you'll get timeout or network unreachable with tracert. When a user logs in to the server how do they log in? RDP? VPN? If I understand you correctly clients can connect to the server. When connected they can't access the internet. Is that correct? Good luck with the washing machine BTW.
  14. Have you checked the advanced properties in computer manager? Check the boot settings. It's possible Windows 2008 just shut it off. There should be 2 options. One for Windows 2008 and one for grub.
  15. Welcome to the community serverant. Hope we can help you along the way.
  16. How do they login? This sounds like it might client side where the problem is coming from. Try tracert -d 74.125.53.99 From the client box and lets see what happening. That is Google's IP. Better to start the troubleshooting by IP. If that works then we have a DNS problem.
  17. To be able to use IPV6 your host has to support it and assign a block of IPV6 addresses to the server. If they don't you'll need a tunnel broker that will assign you a block of IPs. Then you can setup the tunnel and your server will be active on the IPV6 internet. You can use server manager to change the domain name.
  18. Maybe this article will help: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc751315.aspx

  24. Yes use NAT option.
  25. This is not a problem with your server install. It is a problem with the drivers that vmware installs. Make sure vmware tools are installed. If they are check that you have network config set to pass through and not bridged.
