  1. Howdy and welcome.
  2. Howdy Julian. Nice to meet you.
  3. Hello plates and welcome to the community.
  4. Hello Joe and welcome to the community.
  5. You need to put joe.com in the hosts file on the Windows 7 box also.
  6. It's people fishing for open ftp accounts so they can upload to your server. I get these all the time. As long as the user accounts have strong passwords you'll be fine. Just make sure you don't actually have any guest or anonymous accounts and if you do make sure they have strong passwords. Just do as I do and clear the logs. There is no way to stop them unless you unplug from the internet.
  7. Have you checked and made sure you allow both TCP and UDP inbound and outbound connections on port 21? I don't run FTP on my servers so to test out what happens when it's installed I activated the FTP roll and setup FTP for one website. I can connect without making any changes to my firewall rules. I then changed configuration to use SSH and was still able to login. The only thing I can see causing the problem is the firewall rules since it works with the firewall off.
  8. The firewall rule should automatically be added when you turn on the service. It sounds like this could be a problem with the upgrade to 7.5. Have you tried uninstalling the service and reinstalling it?
  9. Never seen this problem. Maybe this is a java applet and you don't have the java sdk installed on the server?
  10. Yes it is possible. Make sure all the files are moved over and the correct links are made to them.
  11. Make sure you actually have localhost setup in DNS.
  12. Make sure your DNS is setup correctly. Might be as simple as having the DNS wrong.
  13. Might have better luck with that athttp://www.xtremedotnettalk.com/ I haven't done any programming in a while so I know I will not be of any help.
  14. Welcome to the site.
  15. Was it installed before with the key you are trying? If it was then the key is no longer valid. Dreamspark keys are MAK keys good for one install only.
  16. Once the box is setup make sure that you allow remote connections and set permissions for each user to allow to login. Also make sure on your home network you have port 3389 open to the IP of the server and on the server itself you have a rule to allow RDP connections.

  20. How are you running it? As a batch file running as a scheduled task or executing it as a regular user? It sounds like you don't have permissions enough on the server.
