  1. No one has been able to find the answer to this problem. There is a couple similiar threads and they all ran into deadends.
  2. Check event viewer. It should give you an idea about what is happening. It could be the power to the server is interupted or could be a program causing the problem.
  3. Make sure the x86 drivers are available on the network. What is happening is the printer is trying to hand out x64 drivers only.
  4. By using the user manager you can set the default user dir. Whne new users are created on the box they will have the dir created to the path you set.
  5. First off welcome to the site. You can use the server manager, user manager to change the settings.
  6. The first screen you get on startup is to do ctrl+alt+del to get to the login screen unless you turned that off. I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. Can you give us a little more information?
  7. As soon as you install term servives you'll be ask to install the CALS.
  8. Open term services manager and it will tell how many cals are installed. You can also add cals you purchased with the managelrs.
  9. Make sure you have enough CALS. Each device that connects needs a CAL. If all licenses are given out then the rest of the boxes will have to wait to connect.

  11. Let's hope Microsoft adds support for the nano.
  12. Users that you create will only be able to run the programs you allow them to run. User accounts are fairly limited out of the box. Keep in mind you can only have 2 users connected at one time with RDP. You'll have to setup the server for VPN and buy the appropriate number of CALS.
  13. You could try creating a batch file to install the language when certain criteria is met or use a scheduled task.
  14. It also affects Windows 2008. Funny thing about this bug is it's not in Windows 7. Transfer speeds are fine over the LAN even to Windows 2008 Server. I do know that the severity of it depends on the disk controller. I don't remember off hand which ones had problems.
  15. This is a known problem that affects Vista. There is no known fix. The ones you linked didn't do the job.
  16. Glad you got it worked out. Thanks for posting and letting us know.
  17. Maybe your network to internet goes down for a short time? That would be the only thing I can think of that would cause the problem.
  18. It's the same with the beta of Windows 7. Some logo anmimation for 10 seconds then black screen until you hit desktop.
  19. Glad you got it worked out. Doesn't it seem that most problems like that turn out to be something you'd never check.
  20. Look at the network connection on the server and at the router/switch on the network. It could be going down intermittently causing the problem.
  21. It's possible the refesh rate of the monitor is wrong. That would explain a lag in drawing the new windows. Maybe changing the refesh rate will fix it.
  22. You shouldn't be seeing any black screens. There has to be something wrong with your video driver. Either it is not loading correctly or the wrong driver is installed. I get those black screens on boot only when the video driver is iniatizing. Ths happens just after the bios screen and just before the boot logo. Yu might want to update the drivers and see if it helps.
  23. Try downloading and installing directx components from Microsoft.
  24. What kind of errors are you getting in your DNS error logs? What is the bluescreen error code?
