Move Server 2003 Settings To Server 2008

Can I name the domain the same as the old server if it is offline or will that cause some unforseen problems? Thanks for the info. If I can get that to work, it will save me a great deal of time. Charles -
I currently have a Server 2003 install. It's old. We had two drives crash in my RAID 5, so we're upgrading to new HP hardware. Installing Server 2008 on the new server. What should I be ready for and can I move my settings (IP settings, user rights, etc.) from the old server to the new server? Point me to any info you can. Thanks Charles
