    We have a network here with about 25-30 people connecting through. We do not have an official "Server" but all the computers are connected to a PC which holds the network documents Our issue is that we need to secure certain files and folders so that certain users can or cannot access them What is a secure way of doing this while still being cost conscious? Thanks alot for your help

    Home versions of windows cannot connect to any networks or just server based networks?

    I wasn't clear enough on my original post. What I meant to ask is which Edition of the OS's are needed. As in, can you run Win 7 home or Win XP Home as a client on a Server 2008 network.

    I know this question must have been answered more then once but after researching for hours, I have yet to find an answer: We are considering setting up a Server with Server 2008 and we need to know the requirements for the workstations: Hardware shouldnt be an issue - the question is, what operating systems will work as a client/workstation on the network?
