Problem Adding New Computers To The Domain

hi there and thanks for the reply, i never had this problem with windows server 2000/2003 . only on windows 2008. is there anything else that i have to configure on the server DNS or i have to configure DNS on each client? i will try to make it with the DHCP as well but i thought i missed something while installing the server. -
dear friends, i have installed Windows 2008 server R2 with Active Directory, but the problem is when i am trying to join new computers to the domain it keeps giving me errors. it only works if i manually put the IP address of the server in the DNS field of the TCP/IP properties of the PC, the computers are all new with wirdows 7 professional and some with XP and all they have the same problem. Please advice...... best regards
