  1. Hello, it ain't half as annoying for you as it is for me ;-) I'd really like to use this damn PC. Ok, here are the screenshots. Sorry for the bad quality, but my upload ratio is only 500k.
  2. I'm not sure if it is the router. I got another router and I keep having the same problem. But thanks a lot for your help, though.
  3. Did that already and it didn't work either. I'm about to give up on this.
  4. Nun brat mir einer nen Storch! I have set up Win7 on the same PC using a second HDD (same model, same size+company) And I still can't connect to my network. I have even used another cable (Cat6). ipconig shows me the ip 169.254.224.107, but the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0 instead of 255.255.255.0 What's wrong with my network? It has to be the router, right? I've also reseted my router, but without any sucess.
  5. Then the router would have blacklisted two NICs. The one from the motherboard and the one I bought yesterday. I've tried to ping the server directly from the router, but the ping failed. It all seems pretty much hopeless :-( I've just noticed, when I looked at the "Netzwerkverbindungsdetails" that DHCP activated is set to NO Could that have anything to do with it? Oh, that is for automatically recieve IP from router, I guess.
  6. Hello, route add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.1 worked Ping 192.168.0.120 worked Anything else didn't work. I couldn't ping any other device in my network. I plugged the cable from the router into the DSG-1008D and set the NIC to retrieve IP automatically. Now the IP is back to 169.254.167.234 I find this all very strange. What else could be the matter?
  7. Hello, here are screenshots from the "route print". I'm a bit confused about the "route add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 IP_ROUTER (which is 168....)" command. I assume I'm not to change the 0.0.0.0, but add my routers IP after IP_ROUTER, correct? Well, my router has the 192.168.0.1 Here is my network VDSL modem-->router (D-LINK DIR 825)[one cable goes to my switch (D-LINK DGS-1008D), another cable to the Win 2008 server] To the switch are connected 1 Desktop client 1 WHS server (ACER Easystore h340) 1 Laptop 1 NAS (Network Atteched Storage D-LINK DNS 320) 1 EPSON Network printer 1 switch (D-LINK) to the 2nd switch are connected 1 Laptop 1 Media Streamer All devices are working fine. They get their IP from the router via DHCP. How can the Win 2008 not be in the same network? Sorry, but I kinda don't feel like giving up, yet :-)
  8. Good morning, I have set up the PC for a third time and followed your steps to the dot with pretty much the same results. The PC isn't even in my local network, so a ping to my router was unsuccessful. So was an outbound ping to Google. Pinging 8.8.8.8 didn't bring any results either as the screenshots show (I had reached my upload quota, so I removed the other shots)
  9. It doens't want to work. The first step "netsh interface ipv4 set address name="" source=static address= mask= gateway=" worked. But at the second step I got this msg back (see picture)
  10. It doens't want to work. The default gateway matches with the one from the router, but I get an error msg.
  11. Here are the screenshots.
  12. I've reinstalet Win Server 2008 with the same result. I've have also bought a network card, but it didn't work either. I took some screenshots
  13. Strange indeed. Cost me lots of nervs already. Will set it up again. See what happens. Will post the result here. Thanks for your help!!
  14. No, I have also done that before. Are there any services that I should start or stop? I'm new to Server2008.
  15. I've tried all that. I'm pretty sure that I have applied the static IP correctly. ipconfig/all displays a 169. .. IP I can't ping any other client in my network or on the Inet. I might go and buy a NIC to try if that works, but since I'm not sure what causes the problem I kinda don't want to waste any money on it. What would you suggest?
