ok so it worked when i connected over VPN, but i dont know whats been going on with my RDP lately...its REALLY REALLY slow and laggy, and the rendering is terrible any ideas? THANKS!

so i recently tried to RDP into the server and all i get is the logon screen then screen goes completely black.. then after about 5 mins it kicks me off i can rdp in on a another administrator account, just not Administrator Please help this is super-urgent!! Thanks!

i found it, i ran the app with command line, +ip 192.168.0.2 Fixed it Thanks!!

ok im trying to host a game server (counter strike) from my server, and currently i have 3 devices, Network connection 1 which is my servers (PC) ip address with DNS and everything, my loopback connection at 127.0.0.1 and the other one which i dont know what it does "Internal". My problem is when i launch the server for cs, it is running on the "Internal" device giving it the ip of 192.168.0.210. ive tried port forwarding the port 27015 to 192.168.0.210, but this doesnt work. I have had it running once on the local connection 1 192.168.0.2 and dont know how i did it, and forwarded 27015 to 192.168.0.2 and that worked fine, i was able to see the game server in the server list, but since closing the server app and reopennning it, it has stayed on 192.168.0.210 and i cant change it? the game server has an option for LAN or internet, but this doesnt change things. Ok im pretty sure ive tried everything now. Ive tried setting up inbound rules in windows firewall with the specific port but it doesnt let me specify a internal host ip. I have an option for setting up a scope but this doesnt make sense as a scope is a range of ips eg 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200. It asks for a remote scope and localnscope, however i just want it to accept connections from all wan ips and forward to a single internal host ie 3019 forwards to 192.168.0.130. I tried adding the single ip of the host in the local scope setting, still no go I also read somewhere that setting up port forwarding in windows firewall is not possible and has to be done through NAT. Also read about installing a "router" role. But cant find it anywhere. Im really despirate to get this going. Thanks!

i just had a nosey around with the windows firewall options and inbound and outbound rules. i created a rule to control a "port" and entered the ports (8016) remote and local, the only thing is it doesnt let me specify the destination IP eg (8016 >> 192.168.0.130) and therefor the port remains closed. hi, i saw there was already a post on this but had some questions of my own. Ive just enabled NAT and am learning how to configure it. Ive setup a DMZ on my router to my server, all works fine and found that windows firewall was controlling my port forwarding rules... my question is am i able to disable windows firewall from controlling port forwarding and use my NAT device to configure it. I found that if i click on IPV4, NAT, Local Area connection and then in the tab "Services and Ports" it has some options for port forwarding? is this a possbility.. also i found in windows firewall there were heaps of ports open, or listed threre anyway, wouldnt this make using a DMZ quite unsafe? Thanks in advance!!

Well id say the dvr just isnt communicating. Can i change the ip on the server However in saying that, local connections were fine to the DVR, just not remote as i take it it was forwarding 9016 to the server not the DVR

ok so i was recently trying to forward port 8016 to the internal host of 192.168.0.100 and prior to installing my server, all this was working fine. The host is a DVR, which im setting up again for remote access and viewing, the problem ive got is, the host wont accept connections and the port wont open, and so i thought id check the server to be sure that nothing was stopping it, no NAT config or routing issues and found the following The DVR is on 192.168.0.100 and the "internal" device on my server is also on 192.168.0.100, so im assuming that port 8016 is forwarding to the internal device on the server, atleast thats all i can think it is. I could rectify this pretty easily, just change the ip on the DVR, but i was just woundering, what exacly is this INTERNAL device and what does it do, being new to servers, and having set this one up purely for experiance and to learn, i may aswell learn as much as i can. Thats exactly what i did. Im using iis to manage ftp sits. Right click on a site and choose "add ftp publishing" But whenever i try connect, it prompts me for my username and password and the connection times Thanks

Im also trying to connect to the database remotely using an app on my phone which supports remote db access on the default mysql port But it doesnt connect The only way to remotely manage my database is from guitaronline.co.nz/ phpmyadmin/ Thanks

hello! so im trying to use the built in MySQL database manager in IIS in server manager. but when i try to collapse the database i get an error. "The ConntectionString property has not been initialized" ive read up and found that i need to set the connection details in the web.config file of which i cannot find (it doesnt exist)? i have PHPMyAdmin running and working fine, just cant access my db remotely any ideas? see pic below cheers [ATTACH]127.IPB[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]128.IPB[/ATTACH]

so changing the port then would work, anabling forwarding on different port to the different internal hosts. Can you change the default windows RDP port? thanks

ok hi, my next question must be relatively simple, i just want to setup RDP on multiple computers but obviously cant forward one port to more then 1 host. Is there a way to solve this without changing the RDP port on the other PCs? Thanks
