  1. oops, sorry. The rules are below: File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request - ICMPv4-In) File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request - ICMPv4-In) File and Printer Sharing (LLMNR-UDP-In) File and Printer Sharing (NB-Datagram-In) File and Printer Sharing (NB-Name-In) File and Printer Sharing (NB-Session-In) File and Printer Sharing (SMB-In) File and Printer Sharing (Spooler Service - RPC) File and Printer Sharing (Spooler Service - RPC-EPMAP) I am thinking I need to set the scope on all of these
  2. OK thanks. For some reason I was thinking I could open it and then paste in all the subnets I had and then reimport it back into the original server.
  3. Thanks for the reply. I looked at that webpage you directed me to. It says to run the following command to export the firewall rules: netsh advfirewall export C:\firewallconfiguration.wfw I tried to open this .wfw file in notepad but it looks messy. If I export to a .txt it look equally as messy. Do you know what application I should use to open this .wfw file?
  4. I am trying to configure the firewall scope for file and print sharing on a windows 2008 server. When I look at the firewall inbound rules, I filtered them to only show those associated with file and print sharing. Since I enabled file and print sharing via server manager I see that the firewall rules need are already configured for me. Now I just need to limit the scope. When I filtered the inbound rules for fire and print sharing, I noticed that 9 rules had automatically been turned on. I will list them below. So I assume I need to limit the scope on all 9 of these rules that were automatically enabled when I turned on file and printer sharing? Is there any way to copy the list of scopes configured for one rule to another?
  5. I am configuring a firewall in windows server 2008. I need to add multiple subnets to an inbound rule but it is making me add the subnets one at a time. Is there any way to add multiple subnets at the same time? I tried separating them with commas and adding them via the GUI but it would not take it (it said specify a valid address). Also if you have already input a long list on subnets in one firewall rule is it possible to copy it over to another firewall rule?
