Forum² Admin AWS Posted May 29, 2016 Forum² Admin Posted May 29, 2016 I have noticed lately that xenForo staff can be influenced by some users on their forum to edit and moderate posts that don't agree with what the thread op has posted. There was a review posted about a forum in the same niche as Forum² that pointed out some of the shortcomings of the site. A few people that were long time members of this site pointed out some of the shortcomings. Staff at xenforo jumped in right away to remove the comments. It seems it's perfectly fine to point out shortcomings of some sites. Just don't do it to any site that is owned by one of the favorites. You see some of the comments pointed out how the site owner will ban members, some of them long standing members who contributed a good amount to the site, if they post on sites that the owner doesn't approve of. The owner regularly visits sites that he deems bad and if he notices one of his members posting on them he will ban them. He will also ban you if he doesn't like what you posted on other sites. It seems this guy has nothing better to do then stalk his users and watch everything they do or say. In any case if you post on the official xenforo forum step lightly if you decide to post an opinion that isn't inline with the way staff thinks. Forum² Admin AWS Posted June 6, 2016 Author Forum² Admin Posted June 6, 2016 I always find them to be pretty fair whenever I have had to deal with them. I have too, but, I did happen to notice that a few people had their posts removed. I read a couple of the replies that were removed and didn't see anything wrong with them. In all my dealings with staff they treated me fairly. Quote IPB Webmaster - For Invision Community Enthusiasts - SEO Help Forum
GTB Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I have noticed lately that xenForo staff can be influenced by some users on their forum to edit and moderate posts that don't agree with what the thread op has posted. I think they handled the whole Daniel Hood incident very badly. Far more so at the end after what they said would happen if he failed to deliver XenReviews. XenForo staff carried out none of the threats they give him since, he should have been banned from XenForo. He's full of excuses and XenForo turned a blind eye to it all because he's a good coder they don't really want to lose supporting XenForo in the future. Quote
Forum² Admin AWS Posted June 18, 2016 Author Forum² Admin Posted June 18, 2016 I agree 100% with you. That situation as well as other could be handled much differently. It's fairly clear if you are in with any os the staff you're safe to do as you please. Quote IPB Webmaster - For Invision Community Enthusiasts - SEO Help Forum
GTB Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) On XenForo Stuart Wright seems to be selling the mods under his name now. But how do you known he isn't giving Daniel a cut out sales because he's still working on them for Stuart as some kind of agreement made between them. If that turns out the case, which of course you'll never know... then nothing has changed. And has been allowed to happen because XenForo didn't carry out their threat of removing all his mods so something like that isn't possible. Edited June 19, 2016 by GTB Quote
Forum² Admin AWS Posted June 19, 2016 Author Forum² Admin Posted June 19, 2016 It's Xon from SpaceBattles that took over the addons. I think Stuart just took over the ones he funded. I'm thinking there something done behind the scenes. Hood might have been told to remove or turn over his mods or xenforo staff would remove him and his mods. He probably wants to come back at some point. Quote IPB Webmaster - For Invision Community Enthusiasts - SEO Help Forum
Forum² Admin AWS Posted June 19, 2016 Author Forum² Admin Posted June 19, 2016 Yes it is. He is either the owner or lead admin. Not sure which. Quote IPB Webmaster - For Invision Community Enthusiasts - SEO Help Forum
