Hi,

I have 2 DCs that are running Windows 2000 Server.

Both have Windows Server SP4 and one has Exchange 2000 SP3 running on it.

The one that has Exchange holds the schema FSMO role.

I added a 3rd server to the domain running Windows Server 2008 as a member server and I wanted to make it a DC, so I tried running adprep/forestprep command on the server that is running Exchange and received this error:

Adprep was unable to extend the schema.

[status/Consequence]

There is a schema conflict with Exchange 2000. The schema is not upgraded.

[user Action]

The schema conflict must be resolved before running adprep. Resolve the schema

conflict, allow the change to replicate between all replication partners, and then run Adprep. For information on resolving the conflict, see Microsoft Knowledge

Base article Q325379.

I looked at article Q325379 and tried the things that it said to do to, but they did not seem to work. This article is for Windows Server 2003 and I am running adprep using the Windows 2008 CD.

If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
