Hello.

I've got a weird routing problem that has me baffled. Any help would be appreciated.

I've got 2 networks, A and B. Network A has a Windows Server 2008 machine P, and Network B has a Windows Server 2003 machine C. The two servers are setup to have a persistent Remote Access connection between them (using PPTP.)

The VPN's connect fine, and almost everything works. Machine on Network A (including server P) can talk to any machines on network B. Any machine on network B, except for the server C, can talk to any machine on network A. But for some reason server C cannot talk to any machines on the remote network (including the remote VPN server).

I can clear this up by adding a static route on server P for the network A address of server C's PPP connection. (OK, that's hard to understand - I use the IP address that belongs to the net A subnet that is being used for the PPP connection on server C. Maybe/hopefully that helps.)

I have it working, but I don't like the fact that I don't understand what is going on. It seems especially odd that the problem only appears on one side.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
