gec5741 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 OK I'm new to windows server for the most part. I have setup a 2008 server at home and have it working for the most part. I have setup up the domain and can login to it fine. I setup 2 user accounts one for me and one for my wife. Now what I would like to happen when we login to any computer in the house mainly our laptop a local user is created. And I'd like to be able to specify what rights that user will recieve. Mainly for the laptop seeing we would want to log into it locally when away from the house and still retain the same profile. How do I accomplish this? I have not been able to figure it out! thank you in advance. Quote
gec5741 Posted February 26, 2009 Author Posted February 26, 2009 OK not sure if I have this right. But I did find in group pereferences where I can have it creat a local user when the domain user logs in. So that should take care of my issue with rights over the local pc. Also as far as my laptop goes It appears I can enable file cacheing on the profile and that should allow the user to login to the domain when physically away from the network. I will test this all out tonight when I get home. Quote
