skooter Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Thanks in advance for any help given. We are currently in the process of turning over from novell to AD and are running into a few snags... We use novell to map drives for certain users in our system. Each user group has different drive mappings to various locations on sometimes seperate servers My question is, is it possible to map a drive, using windows built in drive mapping, to a location outside of the domain? Its possible using a login script, but we were wondering if it was possible using the group policies (it will save us a lot of scripting etc...) We have also noticed that if you have 2 drive maps in a policy and one of them does not work, it affects both of them and doesnt map either drive on the login. Is this something that is supposed to happen or is there a setting to change to allow one to map if the other fails? Again, thank you in advance. Quote
Richard Allen Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 If you want to bypass any scripting, I recommend you implement desktop authority. This desktop management solution can help you with drive and printer mappings, outlook profiles configuration, power management, usb security, etc. without any handwritten login scripts.
