john1733429580 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Hi All I have installed windows2008 server in its own forest with its own DNS/DHCP etc - completely in its own network (separate addresses) in itw own VLAN. On another VLAN I have another windows server 2003 installation. Both these installations were never initially designed to share resources. Now I have been told that 2 users in the windows2003 network needs to be able to login to the windows2008 network. What was really required was that the users be able to select the windows2008 domain from the XP logon dialogue box. I have not done much in the way of trusted domains or forests before. So what I really want to do is a one way trust so that domain windows2003 users can login to the doamin windows2008. I believe this is setting up a one way trust from the windows2003 doamin into the windows2008 domain and that I have to start in the windows2003 domain and that I can create BOTH sides of the trust in one go. I have read and attempted to follow the technet documentation but finding it heavy going. Can anyone help me with clear steps to creating this trust. It is a Forest Trust I am setting up. In the end all I want is for the user in windows2003 domain to be able to logon to the windows2008 domain - using the pick list drop down box and not have to change domains from the windows properties box. thanks john Quote
