Hello,

We have different offices in our organisation. Each of them has their own file server (Windows Server 2008) and network components (Router, Switch,...). DC is located centrally.

All the users work with Windows Vista on their machines.

When there is a power cut in an office, we get problems. When the power comes back up the server comes up quicker than the router and switch and because of this the server doesn't get an ip-address!!

Is there some setting that will tell the server to renew his network configuration after X amount of time or at least when he has no valid ip-address?

Thx

Olivier

I've had this happen to me. The only thing you could do is to setup a UPS on the server and/or the gateway. That is how I cured the problem.
