Hello all! First post! =]

Ok, little bit of a background. Before I get hated on for using 2k8 as a desktop OS, I know. I've been using it for a bit now, and I really prefer this OS to anything else. This machine IS my work machine, so I'm not really using it to play games, chat on the internet, or any other shananagins. Its my work computer!

Well, since it is my work machine, and NOT an actual server, persay, one that provides any services on my work network, there are some items that I want to avoid.

Being a DC is a big one. But I still need access to AD and what not. So what I did was made an instance of MMC on XP SP3 with my AD, DNS, DHCP, RDP, management sites, ect ect ect and just moved that over to my 2k8 box. Works fairly solid. I can use AD, I can administer the GPO, all of it works great!

I also installed DameWare to test out the AD and the remote desktop functions. Works fine as well, like it!

Here is the issue now...

Both this MMC and DameWare NT Utilities keeps locking out my account, and I have to remote onto the DC with another account to unlock mine. I've noticed that it IS both of these, or a combination of these coupled with the OS, still unsure where the issue might lie. Has anyone had similiar issue's? This is just so frustrating, especially if I want to administer user accounts locally. =[ TIA!

GAR! I've uninstalled DameWare, and I still keep getting my account locked out every 5 minutes. I'm going to shut this machine down, and use another for a little while to verify that its happening from my computer. *tear*

Ya know. Sometimes you just need an ear to talk to. Thanks. Figured I would post my find, 'case someone does the same thing.

It ended up being the MMC. I started to ramble on, but it was easy after walking away for a minute. :-)~
