Forum² Staff Shawn Posted March 4, 2010 Forum² Staff Posted March 4, 2010 Do the use of forum tags do anything to help a forum's SEO at all? Quote My forums: Another Admin Forum | vBAdmins Forum | Off Topic Forum | The Hiking Forum
Mike Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Good question. I really can't see how they hurt anything, I always had a lot of tags showing in Google whilst using vBulletin. On the flip side, there are no tags in IPB and my sites are certainly not suffering. Quote IPB-Webmaster - a place to learn more about Invision Power Board forums ::: Follow me on Twitter
Forum² Admin AWS Posted March 4, 2010 Forum² Admin Posted March 4, 2010 Tags for the most part don't do much to help seo. In fact there are a few well respected seo "experts" that say they are of no value. I used tags as categories. If I had a group of threads that covered the same topic I would use a tag to make it easier to access them. Other than that I never used them for any other purpose.
