Hello recently I installed Windows Server 2008 R2 fresh install. One of the services I put in was Windows Media service. I also have II 7.5 all ok there. Well I put the server in like right after it was released maybe 10 days ago. All was fine until today. I went to run the service and it was gone. I went to admin tools and not even on the menu. went to event log and it says following since 6/23 The description for Event ID 300 from source WMServer cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can inst" went back to 6/16 and it said the same thing....Funny thing is I used it this weekend and it was there and running well. The only changes were Peer to Peer networking and Wins Server were added. I took those back off didnt come back. I tried to reinstall and it thinks the service is in there and wont reinstall it. can remove it, its not there. Help what should I do?:(
