Hello all! here is my current network setup:

Motorola SBG1000 router/modem connected to columbus.rr.com >

Ethernet over Powerline adapter>

Server running server2008 enterprise; 2 clients running Windows XP Pro, one running Windows 7 Pro rtm(wireless)

I have The server and one of the clients running on a powerline adapter. all the other clients are wireless.

First of all I have DNS, DHCP and a static ip set up on server 2008 with a forward lookup zone for the dns servers provided by my isp. Problem is I can't seem to correctly set up my router to disable the dhcp. here is a screen shot of the settings I tried to do, however when I do this all computers including server lose connection. What am I doing wrong? 192.168.0.12 is the static for my server.:

I am also having problems joining my windows 7 pro computer to the domain. both windows XP computers had no problem, however when I tried to join on windows 7, this error message comes up:

Thanks in advance for any help!

Try to change the preferred DNS server IPv4 to your local DNS server IPv4 for Windows 7 client at NIC setting. On DNS MMC, select DNS server name, right click>properties>forwader using your server IP adderess.
