If you didn't turn on Network Discovery at the same time that you enabled file and print sharing, then try turning it on. If you did, try turning everything back off, re-enable the firewall, turn on all the sharing again and then disable the firewall again.

Hi Castona

This has had me stumped for days, I have researched many solutions, all to no avail. TODAY i found the solution !!!!

print spooler has been started

network and file sharing enabled.

firewall running in manual (for the sake of the result)

Create your printer shares without errors and you can then check the share is available. Everything worked.

I then stopped the firewall, rebooted and tested again ... ALL GOOD

print spooler has been started

network and file sharing enabled.

firewall off manual

Also as a side note I was able to create the printer shares when the server was not joined to the domain, who would have thought. Thanks VMware for providing the quick flexibility to trash servers in the name of troubleshooting.

My users are happy they can connect to the printer shares.

Good luck.
