mmthomas Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I have a domain name being forwarded & masked to myip/ts. I may have missed or misunderstood this sentence in your original post as well. Do you have another domain name that mydomain.com is being forwarded to? If so, what happens when you put that server and domain name in the Connect to box? Quote
eyal8r Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 I may have missed or misunderstood this sentence in your original post as well. Do you have another domain name that mydomain.com is being forwarded to? If so, what happens when you put that server and domain name in the Connect to box? Nope- just the one domain. Let me summarize for you- --> mydomain.com forwarded to my.ip.123.456/ts with masking turned on - all done via GoDaddy. Users type in www.mydomain.com and it goes right to the TS Web Access Page. -- I click the Remote Desktop button. I type in the IP Address for the Connect To: box, and then connect (I thought this was talking about certificates, but it's not)- I immediately get this box: My link --> I hit connect. It logs me right in (sometimes I have to re-enter my username/password, as if I'm logging into windows itself). The rest of the usage works perfectly (and this is how I'm logging in to be able to access/change all these DNS/Server settings, btw) --> if I type in either mydomain.com, www.mydomain.com, or the ComputerName into the Connect To: box- I initially get the same connect box as above... but then it takes quite a bit longer- and I finally get a new text box message asking me to Enter my Credentials. It says this- ENTER YOUR CREDENTIALS These credentials will be used to connect to the following computers: 1. mydomain.com (TS Gateway Server) 2. www.mydomain.com (remote computer) I try a few different login/passwords, but then it finally errors out after a long period and gives me this: "This computer can't connect to the remote computer because the Terminal Services Gateway server address is unreachable or incorrect. Type a valid server address. That's it. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong? I'm tempted to just give you access to all this, have you take a look to see what's the deal. Your thoughts? Quote

Users type in www.mydomain.com and it goes right to the TS Web Access Page. Do you have a dns record through GoDaddy that goes directly to my.ip.123.456 without the /ts? If not, I would try making one with through GoDaddy with a name like ts.mydomain.com. Then put that in the Connect To box. I think the /ts may be causing problems in the connect to process. I know on my TS, if I put in servername/ts then it will tell me that it can't connect to that server, but works fine with just servername. edit: You can test this before making a dns change by putting the info in your workstation's hosts file and seeing if it works.
