Hello,

i have a serious problem reading data from my server..

i have windows server 2008 sp1, with active directory (domain), DNS installed, dhcp installed...i have created several folder to exchange and store data from users (running windows xp).

on a normal working day, while openning files and working on excel or word on files stored on the server, suddenlu all computers freeze, no one can access the server until i restart it then everything work fine...(i can always login from and to the server)...

ah one more thing i have another computer with windows server 2003 no domain nothing, just ICS software (activewall) to share internet...

plss can anyone help me with this...

thank you...

Is there anything in your event logs when this happens? My first suspicion would be a failing NIC on the server or the server's port on the switch locking up. Is there anything in your logs about the NIC or about the network connection dropping?
