brittonc Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Hi, I have been asked by a family member to setup a new server running 2008 Foundation. I have never setup a server before so am going through the process with whatever information I can find on the net. I have so far installed AD, DNS and IIS but am having problems with DNS. I can ping the ip address and the server name from another PC but it won't find the domain so I can't join it. I am using my router for DHCP but have given the server a static IP. I would be greatful if anyone has any suggestions about what I have done wrong and any additional info I can give to help diagnose. Quote

brittonc Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 hi, All IP's are static. The server has IP of 192.168.2.10. Gateway is 192.168.2.1 and PC is 192.168.2.3. DNS server is set to 192.168.2.10. Is this correct? Thanks Quote
