minitraktor Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Hi! I want to shrink one of my hard drive partitions, so that I can give the space to another partition. I have done the following: 1. Start -> Administrative Tools -> Server Manager (I right clicked and chose "Run as Administrator") 2. Storage -> Disk management 3. Right clicked the partition I want to shrink, chose "Shrink volume", specified the amount of space to shrink 4. Clicked "Shrink" The result: I get an error message saying "Access is denied". The pop-up window displaying the error message has the title "Logical disk manager". What should I do to get it to work? Quote
minitraktor Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 Do anyone know? I suppose it has to do with administrator rights. I am using the standard account created when installing Windows Server 2008 and I suppose this should have all the rights? If not, how do I get them? Quote
