joeled22 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Hi! What do you recommend when it comes to updating java, flash etc? Ive been playing around a little bit with it in gpm and with a gpo but my question is: I want to be able to update firefox, java, flash on my win-clients. Is the best way to do it using computer configuration or user configuration? I want it to update or install without any questions to the users. I m using win2008 r2 This forum is relly great! mmthomas Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Group policy is not very good for updating non-Microsoft products. In my experience, if people use group policy at all for this kind of update, they are running scripts that they have made with other third party products like AppDeploy or WinInstall or other patch/client management software. Adobe products in particular don't play nicely. People have been complaining about Firefox's lack of group policy support for a while now (there is a company that makes it's own version of firefox with group policy controls). Quote
