Hi All,

We are using digital certificate at windows XP and Windows server 2003 and it works fine but when we try to install digital certificate on Windows Server 2008 it gives errors. We are using the same installation steps for windows server 2008 also. Please review the installation steps with error message and guide us how to resolve it at Windows Server 2008.

Following are the certificate installation steps

1. Install the certificate from the HTML backup.

2. Open following URL for generating PKCS12 file.

https://danid.dk/export/sites/dk.danid.oc/da/support/vejledninger/windows/sikkerhedskopiering/opret_avanceret_sikkerhedskopi/

3. Now uninstall the TDC crypto service provider.

4. Rename the file from xxx.pkcs12 to xxx.p12.

5. Now import the xxx.p12 file by using the Certificates Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in

a. Press Next button

b. Enter file path

c. Press Next button

d. Write the password

e. Uncheck Enable strong private key.

f. Uncheck Mark this key as exportable

g. Check Include all extended properties.

h. Press Next button

i. Select Automatically select

j. Press Next button

k. Press Finish button

But after clicking at finish following error message is shown in a popup.

"An internal error occured.Either the user profile is not accessible or the private key that you are importing might require a cryptographic service provider that is not installed on your system"

We already tried the solution which is at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919074 but it did not work.

Please help me.

Regards

Imran Zubair
