cevo Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hi All, This has been driving me potty, I'm trying to create a roaming profile for a user but for whatever reason I am unable to write to the network share. The user account has full privileges to the directory (I even made it so "Everyone" does) but not matter if I login through Windows 7 (as a Directory Server) or through another OS as a normal fileshare I can't write to the folder I'm running Server 2008 R2 Trial Edition (if this makes any difference) Kind regards James Quote
mmthomas Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 You've told us one of the permissions: (Everyone - full control). Is that the Share permission or the NTFS permission on the folder? If that was the Share permission, what are the NTFS permissions? If that is the NTFS permission, what is the Share permission? Quote
cevo Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 HI Matt, Sorry shortly after posting this I realized that the Share had to have full control for everyone but I could then manage properly using the NTFS permissions, once I did this I could deny people access to other peoples folders and viewing it whilst people were still able to make changes in their own. Kind regards James You've told us one of the permissions: (Everyone - full control). Is that the Share permission or the NTFS permission on the folder?
