UnknownTBeast Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I rent one server running Server 2008 Standard, and I need to block a few people who seem intent on trying to disrupt it. Our community uses this server for hosting dedicated gaming servers. There is a group of "hackers" who use an Asian character to crash players games when the hacker joins the server. I've blocked their IP's through the IPSec tool, but we all know it is very easy to get a new IP. If I was able to obtain the MAC address from the company I rent from, is there a way I can block their MAC, instead of just their IP? I've tried searching for a way on Google, but all the results come back for Apple's Mac computers! Much thanks, Randall Quote
Forum² Admin F2 Staff Posted December 30, 2010 Forum² Admin Posted December 30, 2010 There is no way to do this. This would need to be done on the network side at the router or switch. Quote
UnknownTBeast Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 K thanks. Would you happen to know a command prompt command that would do the same thing as IPSec does, but with commands and not a GUI? I did some looking around and the only thing I saw was ipseccmd, but that was in a cmd guide for XP and it wasn't supported in Server 2008 Standard, do you know if it was replaced by something else?
