mmark751969 Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I have a windows server 2003 network with two domain controllers. I have installed the first windows server 2008 server but I have not joined the domain yet. Should I run forestprep or dcprep before joining the 2008 server to the domain. The 2008 server will not be a domain controller. Quote
ICTCity Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 No, it's not needed, just make sure your 2k3 server supports 2k3 clients and above (not only 2000). If you just need to JOIN like a workstation, you don't need anything else :) Anyway, take a look here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc708131(WS.10).aspx You will find what I just told you and also how to join to win 2k3 dc as another DC ;) 1 Quote -------------------------------------------------------- Tu peux aussi crire en franais.
