File Sharing Users As Opposed To Server Users

Hi,

 

I have just installed Windows Server 2008 R2 as a file sharing server for 20 staff... and also to be used as a .Net testing/dev server.

 

Can someone kindly tell me how I should be setting up user accounts & groups for file sharing?

 

I would like to create file sharing only users, but I can only seem to create new users with a desktop user account on the actual server?

Hi there,

 

You just have 2 choices: use local account (which is what are you doing now) Or use Active Directory to create domain's users.

 

Of course you could set up the (permission?) EVERYONE but it's quite useless.
