JSW Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Hi, Im looking at combining a Server 2003 machine, running as a web and file server, with a Windows 7 machine running IIS to host movies, onto a single Server 2008 machine. Ive heard that having a number of music and video files on this server could make it more attractive to hackers. Ill be running two external websites, an internal site to host my video collection to a video appliance, and a file server to host my MP3s to an audio appliance. Id like to set the server up to isolate the media files as much as possible from the external websites, and to secure the entire server as best I can. Id appreciate any input as to if this is possible on one server, and any suggestions on the best way to set it up. Thanks in advance for your help! Quote
ICTCity Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Hi, Place a firewall in front of the network, put the webserver which will be external in a DMZ. Don't use weak password, block failed login, set a rule of a traffic limit (to reduct DoS) on your FW. Quote -------------------------------------------------------- Tu peux aussi crire en franais.
