bobz Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Hi, guys! I have a little problem with uninstalling windows server.... My story is looking like this... 1.Install win xp. 2.Partition HDD- in two ... 3.Install win server on the other partition.. 4.Erase manual win xp. Now, I want to uninstall Windows Server...but I can't because when I insert the cd with the new os -that option doesn't appear!!! When I start the computer it appear : -earlier windows or -windows server ...normal ...but....when I choose earlier version : Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corupt \\system32\hal.dll Please re-install a copy of the above file. But,when I enter in the partition is empty, but it has some GB... And I can't delete the partitions!!! ps.Look at the attached files. So...how can I format the whole computer ???..to install the new os?? Thanks. Quote
Forum² Admin F2 Staff Posted September 13, 2011 Forum² Admin Posted September 13, 2011 Best thing to do is download a LInux boot cd and boot to it and erase format the partition using the tolls on the disk. Quote
