voJohn Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I have windows server 2008 running dhcp and it's scope is 192.168.10.1- 192.168.10.10, but I try to connect my desktop to the switch and it doesn't get the dhcp scope. It gives me 169.x.x.x and i try to search through google to find out how my workstation get dhcp scope on my server. Please help me because I stuck. Any help is greatly appreciated. Quote
ICTCity Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Check on your DHCP server if the service is running and if it has any address assigned. voJohn Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 My DHCP is running and i created a scope but when I connect my other workstation to the 2950 switch it doesn't get an IP address of the scope that I have created. What should I do? Quote
ICTCity Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Are you sure that the DHCP server is not behind a router and IS on the same network as the computer? Are you sure that in the scope 192.168.10.1 - 10 there are NO computers, routers, servers, ... which are using these addresses? raffigrant Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 make sure your router isnt running dhcp, then check in your server dhcp leases for conflicting stuff, 169 means temporary ip, it isnt seeing ur dhcp, soooo, try a static address within your set scope. Quote
iphonogasm Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 also maybe you need to setup some routers/switches to relay dhcp ;) Quote
