jmcelvoy Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I'm going to be moving my companies Disaster Recover Domain Controller to a new facility and changing it's IP address this coming weekend and I've read there might be problems within AD from changing the IP of a Domain Controller. I've never had to change a DC's IP so I'm looking for any advice from anyone that has. Currently, one of my branches uses this DC to authenticate to...after the move and IP change, they should just authenticate to whichever DC they are nearest to right? What concerns should I have about changing the IP of this DC and is there anything specific I need to do in preparation for the change? Quote
ICTCity Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 if it's not the primary, simply remove it from Domain, then change IP, then re-join. It's a longer way but it's safer.
